Coastal Rep Is You
The magic of a play from first reading to opening night is about people.
- People onstage and backstage who are directors, actors, producers stage managers, lighting and sound technicians, costumers, set designers/builders.
- People at the front of the house who work the box office, usher, serve refreshments, maintain the facilities.
- People behind the scenes who design, create and produce the production advertising and the programs, answer the phone, keep the books, set artistic and business policy.
- People in the audience who are season ticket holders, who are seeing their first Coastal Rep play, who are related to a member of the cast or crew, who come from "the other side of the hill," who live on the Coastside/Half Moon Bay.
As a nonprofit community theater Coastal Rep depends upon patrons and volunteers from Half Moon Bay, the Coastside, and the greater Bay Area. We also depend on monetary donations from the community.
Be a Season Ticket Subscriber
The play is everything! But it's nothing without an audience. Our season subscribers are the backbone of our audience, our strongest support, and our best advertising - word of mouth. Be a season ticket subscriber, and don't miss a single play. Changing dates is as easy as a phone call. If you're out of town, give the tickets to friends and introduce them to Coastal Rep.
We have a good number of theater groups who attend the plays together. Some meet for dinner in a home or restaurant and make an even more special evening of theater and friends. Make a group of your friends - another great way to share your passion for good theater.
Call (650) 726-9208 for season subscription information.
Contribute Financially
Coastal Rep must generate funds in addition to what it takes in at the box office. Over the last several years, the generosity of our donors has been remarkable. The Board of Coastal Rep has made a decision to focus its fundraising efforts on a patron program using an annual appeal to earn the $50,000 needed yearly to sustain the operation of the theater. In order to maintain financial stability, we need donations of money - all amounts are welcome. All donors are honored annually in our program. The new "Heart of the Theatre" program pays tribute to its donors by celebrating each succeeding year - donations are cumulative. The recognition walls honor our major donors and longtime donor-volunteers. It takes both money power and people power to keep the doors open.
Mail your donation checks to Coastal Repertory Theatre, 1167 Main Street, Half Moon Bay, CA 94019. Put your donation check in Bub's Donation Bowl on the bar in the theater lobby. "Tip" Coastal Rep at the bar and Max's during intermission.
Participate Onstage, Backstage, Behind the Scenes
If you're a brilliant actor or keep having a nagging thought that you want to be on stage, if you're a light, sound or set designer or are willing to learn; if you want to help out by ushering, selling tickets and/or pouring wine, if you want to have fun working with a great group of people, Coastal Rep is the place for you.
Volunteer your services or yourself (We'll work out a place for you.) by filling out a card available in the theater foyer and putting it in Bub's Donation Bowl on the bar in the lobby. ("Bub" is Michael Lederman, our Artistic Director, and an actor, director, and fundraiser extraordinaire.) You will be contacted.
Coastal Rep Thanks You!
